In short: Since December 2025 I have been working with a notebook from TUXEDO Computers, and I am extremely happy with it. That applies not just to TUXEDO OS but to the whole package: hardware, Linux integration, ordering, communication and trouble-free delivery to Cyprus. I would buy my TUXEDO again any time. This is not paid advertising, but my experience with a work device I bought myself.

Why I would choose TUXEDO again

For my switch from Windows to Linux, it was not only about the operating system. I also wanted a powerful, high-quality notebook that I can work with properly for the next few years.

I really have to make a clear recommendation here: I am extremely happy with my TUXEDO notebook.

That applies not only to TUXEDO OS, but to the whole device and my experience with the manufacturer.

A German manufacturer that also assembles its devices in Germany

Something else I found interesting when deciding: TUXEDO Computers is a German company headquartered in Augsburg with its own production in Leipzig.

There, the computers are put together according to the customer's configuration, assembled, tested and set up with the operating system. Of course, not all hardware components come from Germany. But assembly, software adjustments and quality control happen there.

At a time when many notebooks are practically interchangeable mass products, I find this approach remarkable.

On top of that, TUXEDO explicitly develops and optimises its devices for Linux. Linux is not just some operating system you install afterwards on a Windows notebook.

Ordering and delivery to Cyprus: exemplary

Another point I explicitly want to praise is the purchasing process.

I live in Cyprus. Anyone who regularly orders hardware here knows that international shipping is not always straightforward. Notebooks with large lithium batteries in particular can cause extra difficulties, especially when air freight is involved.

All the more pleasing was my experience with TUXEDO. Ordering and delivery to Cyprus worked without any problems. The notebook's large battery was no obstacle either.

I was particularly impressed by the communication throughout the ordering process. I was kept very well informed about the order status and delivery. The information was clear and easy to follow, and the whole process ran smoothly.

That may sound like a matter of course. My experience with other international orders shows that it is anything but.

In my view, TUXEDO really got everything right here.

It's not just the operating system that convinces me

Of course, TUXEDO OS was one of the reasons for my decision. But the best operating system doesn't help much if the hardware doesn't hold up in daily use. All the better that I am also extremely happy with the notebook itself.

I use it professionally as my main work machine. PHP development, Shopware projects, Docker, databases, various development environments and working with AI tools are part of my daily routine. With 96 GB of RAM, several Docker environments, PhpStorm and lots of browser windows run at the same time. So the notebook is not an occasionally used second computer, but a work device I have to rely on every day.

I won't pretend I have tested every other Linux notebook. I can only share my experience with my own device. And to this day it has been extremely positive. I don't regret the decision.

My clear recommendation for TUXEDO Computers

I already knew from my private desktop with Linux Mint that I could get along with Linux. That the switch went so smoothly on my work computer as well is largely thanks to TUXEDO.

Not only because of the operating system, but because of the overall package of hardware, Linux integration, individual configuration, order handling and customer communication.

That is why I can explicitly recommend TUXEDO Computers from my own experience. If you are looking for a powerful notebook for Linux, especially for software development and technical work, you should definitely take a look at their devices.

I would buy my TUXEDO again any time.

Transparency: this is not paid advertising, but my personal experience with a work device I bought myself. There is no partnership with TUXEDO Computers.
