No logo wall, just concrete work: for every project you see which role I had, which stack was used and what exactly was delivered. Two kinds of collaboration show up here: for agencies (plugin development, white-label, capacity in client projects) and directly for merchants (maintenance, store setup, migration). Ongoing development of the Shopware plugin for configento.app, the product configurator of the agency justSelling: configure complex products in the store, calculate prices in real time, cleanly integrated into cart and checkout. A plugin running at many merchants – with correspondingly high demands on compatibility, updates and code quality.

White-label partnership with an agency

Active white-label partnership with an agency I keep confidential – I work there on behalf of the agency for its clients: maintenance and updates of several Shopware 6 stores, building landing pages, creating and adapting themes and developing small plugins. The agency sells, I deliver – invisible to the end client, reliable for the agency.

Freelance engagement for avemio.tech GmbH: technical maintenance of the Shopware 6 store videodata.de (video and broadcast equipment). Focus areas: a major Shopware update that required adapting the store's numerous custom plugins, feature extensions of those plugins and, above all, performance optimization of the store. The store has since been discontinued.

Two-year full-time engagement as senior PHP developer: Shopware plugins, new stores, migrations from Shopware 5 to 6

Role: Senior PHP developer, full-time engagement via Stefan Pilz Ltd.
Stack: Shopware 5, Shopware 6, PHP, Symfony, plugin development, migrations, WordPress

Two-year full-time engagement as senior PHP developer for the Berlin Shopware agency WIZMO GmbH (shopentwickler.berlin, no longer in business) – invoiced through Stefan Pilz Ltd., fully remote from Cyprus: support for a large number of client stores as plugin developer, setup of new Shopware stores, feature extensions for existing stores and numerous migrations from Shopware 5 to Shopware 6. Plus two WordPress projects (company websites).

How I work

Three principles that apply in every project

Understand before building

First the short technical assessment: what is the actual problem, where is the lever, what makes economic sense? Then the implementation.

Build instead of forwarding

You talk to the developer who does the work – no handover chain, no black box, clear status updates and early warning about risks.

Hand over instead of holding on

Code in your repository, tests, documentation and a deployment process your team understands. No vendor lock-in – your system does not depend on me afterwards.

Background

Experience at a glance

Today: Senior freelancer in ongoing Shopware projects of several agencies and merchants – at home in foreign repos, processes and deadlines.
Since 2021: Self-employed as Stefan Pilz Ltd. – remote for merchants and agencies: Shopware 5 and 6, Symfony, migrations, maintenance.
2015 – 2021: E-commerce backends: inventory, PIM and Amazon/eBay integrations for around 3.5 million products, then the Drillisch mobile-carrier web stores.
Since 2012: Full-time web developer – first at an agency: websites and stores with Joomla, xt-Commerce and Shopware.
2002: Completed vocational training as a software developer (C/C++). First own PHP websites from 2004.
